Well, the cold weather and numerous snow storms have caused herds of deer and elk to come down out of the mountains and into the valleys. On a shopping trip to nearby Spanish Fork, Marnae and I discovered a group of 11 bull elk in a nearby field. We raced home, grabbed the cameras and the baby backpack, and headed back to the field to see if our elk were still around.

wow... where exactly are you guys in this film? And what program did you use to updload the video onto your site. That's sweet that you guys braved the elements to get some footage. Much braver than Bethany and I would be... well, than I would be at least.
These elk were behind the Krishna temple between Salem and Spanish Fork. We found a field that was not fenced off and were able to get pretty close to them. When I say close, it was probably no closer than 80 yards or so. They spook pretty easily.
As far as the video. You can upload any .avi, .mpeg, .quicktime, .real, or .wmv file into Blogger as long as it is less than 100 megs. I use Roxio MyDvD9 for the most part, but Windows Movie Maker also works. Movie Maker is free and you can download it for Windows XP from the Microsoft site. Because Blogger runs the videos so small, you can save video files at a pretty low resolution. I use about 1 meg per minute of video in the movies I have posted so far.
Well, enough of my blabbing, back to blogging. It's good to see you in the Nest.
